Plan an FAQ section that answers real buying questions

An FAQ earns its place when it resolves a question that otherwise interrupts a visitor's decision. It should not become a storage area for text that did not fit elsewhere. Start with questions people actually ask, then decide where each answer belongs.

Collect questions with their context

Review enquiry notes, internal handovers and questions asked during quotations. Remove identifying details before sharing examples. Record the service, stage of the conversation and reason the question matters. “How does onboarding work?” and “Can you start tomorrow?” may involve different concerns even when both mention starting work.

If no conversation history exists, label initial questions as proposed questions and test them with colleagues or prospective readers. Do not claim they are frequently asked without supporting experience.

Write answers people can use

Begin with the direct answer, then add the condition or next action needed to understand it. Link to a detailed service page when the explanation is long. Keep a single approved source for facts such as contact details or quotation steps so answers do not drift apart across pages.

A question about pricing can explain the information needed for a quotation. It does not need a fabricated starting price or a vague promise that every budget can be accommodated.

  • Explain what happens and who needs to act.
  • State dependencies that materially change the answer.
  • Use examples only when they clarify an unfamiliar process.
  • Assign an owner to answers likely to change.

Review what the FAQ is hiding

For example, if several questions ask what virtual assistance includes, the main service description may need improvement. Put the essential explanation there and use the FAQ for remaining details. Visitors should not have to open multiple answers to discover the basic offer.

Avoid treating an FAQ as a search ranking shortcut. Its immediate purpose is to help readers. During reviews, remove duplicate questions, update changed procedures and check that linked pages still support the answers.

Take it into your working day

Keep FAQs specific, current and connected to real uncertainty. The best question list is useful enough to read and short enough to maintain.
