Plan a Social Graphic Series With a Clear Rhythm

A social graphic series should feel related without making every post look interchangeable. Start by deciding what the audience will gain from the series. Then create a repeatable structure that lets each topic have its own message. Consistency is most useful when it helps people recognise and understand the content.

Define the series before designing posts

Choose a narrow purpose, such as answering common service questions or explaining one stage of a workflow. List the first six topics and write the key sentence for each. This reveals whether the idea has enough variety. If every topic says the same thing in different words, refine the content plan before spending time on visual production.

Create a flexible visual structure

Define a small set of elements: a topic label, headline area, supporting image and closing action. Decide which elements stay consistent and which may vary. A question-led post may need a different arrangement from a short checklist. Prepare examples with both short and long titles, because a template that only works with three words will fail during everyday use.

Review the sequence as a reader

Place the first few drafts together and look for repetition, abrupt changes and weak opening messages. Then inspect each graphic on a phone. The post should make sense when seen alone; do not rely on the audience remembering yesterday’s instalment. Prepare the accompanying caption and any image description before scheduling the series.

  • Give every post one main idea and one clear next step.
  • Check dates, service names and language consistency.
  • Keep essential text away from likely crop boundaries.
  • Store editable templates separately from approved publishing files.

Take it into your working day

A strong series combines a recognisable structure with distinct, useful messages that stand on their own.
